true tears OST

Published by Whispered.Hope under Music

I’ve been dying to get a hold of this since I heard that BGM that played during Shin’s and Noe’s first meeting in episode 1 (which turns out to be track number 7, 「舞い降りる記憶の影に」Maioriru Kioku no Kage ni). I haven’t been disappointed in it, since I ended up keeping 18 of 33 tracks. I knew since that song that true tears would have an excellent OST, and I’ve loved the music being played in each episode. Kikuchi Hajime, the composer and arranger for the soundtrack, has also done the arrangement for the OP to CLANNAD, which I also enjoy.

That being said, track 7 and track 19 (「一陣の風」Ichijin no Kaze) are my two favourites. Maioriru is quite melancholy IMO, and I’m surprised it was played in their first meeting. Then again, after this week’s past episode, I guess it fits the couple, ne? Ichijin reminds me a lot of a korean drama…I swear I’ve heard that tune somewhere before. Then again, knowing korean dramas, that also fits true tears xDD The majority of the CD seems like it’s basically just one song and contains five different versions of it, but I like the melody, so it’s all good.

the brilliant green - Ash Like Snow PV + LIVE (Gundam 00 2nd OP)

Typical band performing song PV, but unlike 「distance」 that had a ’story’, I found that it matched quite well with the lyrics despite that. There were a few Haro sightings during the clip, but I found that it was out of place, and not necessary if they were trying to tie it back to Gundam 00. The lyrics themselves, as well as the war background, and maybe even the sniper pandas, was enough to secure the relevance in my opinion. I liked how she used the walkie-talkie as a microphone, and the ash-like effect that followed her after the bridge of the song.

All in all, I liked the PV, and I love the song. Rock is my genre. It doesn’t sound powerful enough in the OP, for they lowered the sound quality compared to the PV, though I guess I just like my music loud xD; I’ve never heard of the group before, despite them being around for almost ten years, but I’m definitely interested in following them now.

LONG SHOT PARTY - distance PV (Shippuuden 2nd OP)

Download the PV (66.2MB) | Download the MP3 (2.81 MB)

So, this PV took its sweet time to be released. Well, the single 「distance」 isn’t released until tomorrow, so it’s technically on time, but I’ve been seeing the CM for the single since months ago, so it feels like forever. In fact, I think it is late coming out. It should’ve at least come out the same time as little by little’s 「キミモノガタリ」, but I digress.

Now that I mention the CM, the preview PV that they showed before and the one released now are two different things. Not only that, but I believe they rerecorded the song. Taking both into consideration, I liked both earlier versions. The 1st version of the song featured in the NARUTO OP sounds much better (I love the echos when compared to the silence and the more prominent second background singer), and all the little kids being the little version of the band fit more with the lyrics than whatever’s happening in this PV.

I have no clue how to fit in the story shown with the lyrics. I mean, we have real-life Sakura here fighting people, though it all seems senseless. If she was fighting for a friend, I can make the connection, but they never show that the girl actually has a friend. Unless the band is supposed to be her friend… Apparently, the story’s a work in progress, so we’ll see if it makes more sense in future PVs? I’m tempted to continue following this group just to figure all this out. That must be their plan. Damn. At least there’s a tenor sax in the band. I had a crush on a tenor sax player in my class once xD I like the blonde bassist here better, though >_>;
