Vampire Knight - 1st Night

I am in love with series. Just one episode and I feel so wrapped up into the story. It’s weird, because some parts of the story are predictable and the hints easy to catch, but I still find it so interesting for I want to know how it’ll turn out and what will come out to surprise me. And the impending triangle is a plus. And I literally screamed when I heard Miyano Mamoru’s voice. I thought Zero wasn’t aware that the night class was a bunch of vampires, a race he hates, and I thought that was ironic. Then it turns out he knows it and still does the job (mainly because he has no other choice), and then I thought it’d be even more ironic if he was a vampire himself. And lo and behold, they’re hinting heavily that he is. Generic, but it’s something that works because it complicates things, which makes things interesting.

The weapons the Yuuki and Zero are supporting gave me a big Zombie-Loan vibe. Well, mostly Zero’s, because that had Shito written all over it. That, and his personality is a lot like Shito’s now that I think about it. Zero aside, Yuuki can’t be a normal human. Insane window to tree to ground hopping aside, there’s something special about her blood that’s drawing all the vampires (or the male ones, anyway). And I’m really wondering about her life before she was five. She doesn’t remember her parents, and she assumes they’re dead, but what was a five year old doing alone in a snow field anyway? Did she get lost, were they already dead, has she been missing the whole time?

I also got HanaKimi vibes, with the scores of girls waiting by the dorm rooms for the hot bishounen to come out (though I was totally knocked out for a loop when I realized there were girl vampires, too xD Ruined the HanaKimi mood). Of course, the peace between the Day Class and the Night Class won’t be lasting long now that they’ve been caught, regardless of the fact that the girls’ memories were wiped, and I’m looking forward to the moment people realize Zero’s a vampire. Predictable, but I’m still excited.

I also loved the OP and ED song. They’re sung by a bunch of people I don’t know, but I felt like it matched the tone of the series well.

OMG…. it’s like all these generic plotlines rolled into…. awesomeness. Who doesn’t like vampire bishonen?

As a classical music fan myself, I kept laughing at the pseudo-classical stuff that was playing in the background. Cheesy, but just too fun to let go of!

Miyano Mamoru’s voice is permanently embedded in my mind because I’ve watched Death Note far too many times over, and I too acted like a giggling fangirl upon hearing it. Earlier mentioned brother now thinks I’m insane.

This anime is better than I expected.
I love everything about it, especially the character designs..
My favorite character at the moment is Zero.
And Miyano Mamoru’s voice is perfect for him..

Julia: Seriously. Somehow it can pull off all the genericness.
I wasn’t paying too much attention to the BGM, but I have to now that you mentioned that xP

Haha, how can you watch DEATH NOTE so much? Though I love watching the episodes where Light lost his memory…xD But I’m glad we have Miyano this season. With Gundam 00 on break, I need a Miyano fix! And it’s payback for your brother liking C.C. xP

Setsukyie: It is, ne? I’m itching to read the manga now. I wonder if the anime is doing it justice. I keep on laughing when I hear his name because all I can think of is CODE GEASS when I do xP But glad to see another Miyano Mamoru fan! ^^
