Gundam 00 - Episode 25 (Season 1 END)

Holy f*ck. That’s all I can say without my mind imploding on me. That’s one of the best endings I’ve seen in Gundam history. Gundam 00 is truly stepping up to be one of the best Gundam series ever made. Things I knew would happen happened (Livonze is a total traitor!!!), and the four year time skip just destroyed me– in a good way. I think. The battle between Alejandro and Sestuna was superb, and for a second I thought this was truly the end of the series, but my knowledge of me knowing a Gundam series go 52 episodes, and the final message of “Mission Incomplete” was a indicator that this thing is far from over. I don’t know where to begin without missing anything, so I’ll try and start my thoughts from the beginning of this epic episode.

Alejandro VS Sestuna was one of the best Gundam fights ever. It was worthy of the title of an Episode 52-final-battle type of fight. They smashed it. When you thought it was over when Sestuna wiped the floor with the Armor, the bastard comes out with a suit that was hidden by the Alvatore. Unfortunately, I think Lasse’s dead, but at least Sestuna got revenge by killing Alejandro. While this is good, it also helped out Livonze, who, as I knew he would, betrayed the Corner member and is now the front leader in being a baddie contender next season.

After just recovering from thinking I lost Sestuna from that giantic blast that Alejandro made before, because we all know something’s going to happen to Sestuna this episode, Graham freaking comes out of no where. A resounding, “NOOOO, you’re not supposed to show up now, you idiot!!” scream echoed within my room walls. I mean, I had hopes the two would work together, and that their fight wouldn’t happen now. In a surprising confession of love, obsession and hate from Graham to Sestuna, the two go at each other and manage to take each other out. Graham goes with a smile on his face, believing he achieved revenge for Howard and Daryl, and we’re left to ponder if Sestuna’s still alive. I’m wondering what that feather flying by was?

Following this was an interesting Sestuna x Marina moment that I loved. It still makes me wonder how things grew between them, though. One meeting causes Sestuna to rely on Marina for the answers to the world’s problems and other questions pretaining to the fundamental problems of humans? Perhaps because their races were, and still are, fighing amongst each other, and to hear a sincere wanting to end everything from an ‘enemy’ really touched him. All he wants is for the fighting to end, after all. It’s nice to know that she’s still hoping the world changed four years later for the sake of Sestuna.

For the Allelujah/Hallelujah VS Soma fight, it was great to see the true power of the two usually conflicted personalities of Allelujah, possibly represented by the two different coloured eyes. This also came with an interesting connection showing between Soma and Sergei, and the fact that Soma happens to be someone Allelujah knows as Marie (Oo, it’s my name! xD). I think I’m liking the bloodlust too much because I hoped Allelujah would’ve shot at Soma when she left her suit to check on Sergei. The two manage to make it to the end of the season, and if Allelujah’s still alive, it seems Hallelujah won’t be with him. I didn’t even know it was possible for the two to seperate. I wonder what did it– the destruction of the right eye?

And then the four-year time skip happened.

Saji never went the Shinn way (yet), or took up journalism after all, opting to go with his original life plan and go into space. Although it’s been two years since he spoke with Louise, he’s still thinking of her. He sees the GN paritcles from a Gunadm in the distance, and I wonder if this will spark something from him about dealing with the suits. It almost felt like the moment Sestuna first saw a Gundam.

The world ended up keeping the truce between each other, the UN becoming the Earth Federation where all countries involved got rid of their armies and had a universal army to keep the peace. Was that Patrick standing in the second line behind his love? O= What Marina’s assistant said before she left was true– it’s only a matter of time before it breaks apart, especially since no every country is part of the UN, and thus a part of keeping the fragile peace the world now has. This is even more apparent since Livonze and his group of cyborg twins have yet to make the move to control the world as he wanted four years ago.

Graham makes an appearance with an ugly looking mask (or is that how his face looks like now after the blast of his Flag?), and as expected, Ali isn’t dead. No doubt the both of them are other contenders to be a baddie next season. Louise looks fine (is she still thinking of Saji?), and is accompanied by a Tieria look-a-like. Is this the fate of him after he released his GN Drive the last time we saw him, saying that he’ll be meeting with Lockon? If it is, it turns out he turned into a girl, complete with a Lockon hair style. I knew he was always having gender issues xD But if it isn’t, it looks like he’s the Rei (Evangelion) of Gundam 00, since there are a ton of clones of him.

And last but not least, we can’t forget the only remaining backing member of CB, Liu Mei. It doesn’t seem she believes the world is right yet, and has new Gundams to truly fix the world. And Nena has been picked up by them, most likely the new pilot of Gundam 0, of which they can’t find a matching Drive for. I’m hoping Sestuna will be piloting the Gundam 00, the unit Liu Mei believes will change the world.

The first season of Gundam 00 started slow for me, because it was a litte heavy on the politics without enough of other elements to compliment it. They killed off enough people, but this leaves room for new ones, as well as building up on the ones that survived. I’m still awaiting the appearance of Lockon’s twin, and the fate of the remaining members of the original CB, besides Ian. We’ll have to wait a season until it continues, but we’ll have CODE GEASS to takes us there.

That was… amazing. 00 might actually be beating Wing in terms of my favoritism, and considering how much I loved Wing, that’s saying something.

Allelujah/Hallelujah’s combination thing was just pure awesomeness. I’m going for the idea that the reason Hallelujah is gone is because his eye was damaged.

Livonze that bastard… I knew he was up to something. Him and his annoying smirk.

Yeah, I think Setsuna’s definitely alive. He IS the main character after all, and we still don’t have answers about that unit at the beginning answered.

The fragile peace that currently exists can’t last long. Sooner or later something’s going to happen, and it’ll all break up again.

Why, WHY is it that so many characters I loved died, but STILL my most hated one, Nena, still lives on.

I’m torn between being depressed that 00 doesn’t continue for another six months, and being gleeful that Code Geass R2 started this upcoming weekend. At least we don’t have too much of a cliffhanger.

well this probably proves Setsuna and Marina have something with each other, and in season 2 he’s legally an adult so he can be with her lols, atleast that’s what I’m hoping for.
