Gundam 00 - Episode 24
Since the last three weeks or so have been killing off someone, why should this week be any different? The only person I didn’t cry for was Patrick and that random guy in the medical room of Ptolemaios. Shows a lot about the impact Patrick’ death had on me despite the amount of airtime he’s been getting. It makes me wonder why he got all that time, no matter how little it was. Maybe to show the justification of Kathy’s future ‘I-want-revenge’ tantrum which is sure to come? I teared up at the little conversation Setsuna and Feldt had, though, because Sestuna saying that it was Haro that was truly lonely due to Lockon’s death was just too much. Who would’ve though Setsuna could say something so touching about Haro, something which technically isn’t really living?
What really got me bawling was the death of Lichty and Chris. I didn’t really see any hints about Lichty liking Chris, but the fact that Chris accepted it and they died in each other’s arms was the sweetest thing. I mean, it looks like Lichty isn’t even fully human (another like Tieria?), and for Chris, who has been looking at every other boy, to tell him that she’s been blind…I bet that was the greatest thing Lichty could’ve heard before he passed on. This whole not-fully-human humans is giving me a serious Matrix vibe. Like, the true humans are really part Machine and such.
In any case, I guess it was obvious that something was going to happen when the four of them suddenly start talking about their past with the same insert song that played during the flashback of Saji and Louise before they parted ways. That, and Chris was nice enough to save Feldt from the same fate. I thought Chris might’ve been able to stay alive, but even if she didn’t have something sticking out of her back, the blast afterward would have surely caught her as she tried to get away. In fact, I expected there to be a Gundam SEED moment, where one of the Gundams would’ve suddenly appeared and block the attack. It’s more realistic like this, though. As Chris pleaded before they died, I hope those who are still alive can truly create a world the rest of them could be proud of, or it’d all be a waste.
There are also hints that Allelujah/Hallelujah and Tieria could be knocking on death’s door, and all we need is a Sestuna death teaser now in the final episode of season one next week to really get everyone involved. We might actually get it, if the title of the next episode is any indication. Hopefully that annoying Alejandro will be gone, though I’m wondering where the hell Livonze is. I guess Alejandro gave up wanting to control CB to wanting to destroy it after his run in with Veda. I’m still waiting to find out what grudge he has against the man.
I’m surprised that was the reason Tieria threw at Sestuna for Lockon’s death. I thought Setsuna telling Lockon about Ali was more damaging than Sestuna going to Earth. If Lockon was never aware of Ali, he may have never been so hell-bent to leave and fight him. The only thing Sestuna could’ve done if he didn’t leave for Earth was try to stop him, and that would’ve have been much different from the chance Tieria had to stop him. It may have ended the same way. I really liked that flashback to two years ago, though, where they all met each other. It was also nice to see Sestuna reach some sort decision where ‘God’ is concerned.
I have no doubt that the last episode of season one will be a good one.

And the list of dead lengthens. I’m much preferring this to SEED because it’s just that much more interesting.
The only part I teared up at was the part with Lichty and Chris.
I have officially adopted a meh attitude to Patrick’s death. It was a bit strange that he died after all the airtime he got, but compared to all the other deaths, I don’t really care.
CB seems to have really fallen apart, but I’m wondering if that wasn’t the plan all along. The three world powers united themselves, and if CB is gone, maybe they’ll stay that way.
It’d be pretty strange to have Tieria without revealing any backstory on him. He’s been a mystery all along, it’d be just cruel to kill him off without finding more.
Eeh, I like both SEED and 00, but I’m happy that 00 isn’t following the footsteps of SEED. No matter how much I like SEED, we don’t need another one n__n
Mm, it’s weird that despite the amount of airtime Patrick got, his death was as meaningless as some no name character xP
I’d like to believe that the three superpowers will continue to work together if CB is gone, but I have a feeling it won’t. The only reason they’re working together is to get rid of CB. Once that common goal is gone, they’ll be back at each other’s throats. Hopefully all of them, plus the new CB, if the current one should be destroyed, will work together and stay together fighting a new baddie (Alejandro or not).
And I agree. They can’t kill off Tieria yet. I’m guessing it’s just a teaser.
I didn’t even follow this show until the last few episodes of the season, and only started because of the deaths. XD Starting with Kinue’s. You can’t even imagine how much Lockon’s death pissed me off. I’m probably just being paranoid but sometimes it seems as if every entertainment medium is intent on giving my country the shaft. XD LOCKON NOOOO
I liked Patrick a lot, actually. I hate how his death was so sudden. Christina I wasn’t too fond of, Dr. Moreno I didn’t care enough about, and Lichtendahl I adored, lol. Meh. It kills me that they’re knocking off all those genuinely nice people, especially so late in the season. It seems a bit rushed.

Did you like Patrick? I mean, I give him props for trying to hook up with an older lady, but that’s about it xD Even that seemed random in place of everything else. Oh, was that the one who died in the medical room? Dr. Moreno? -totally doesn’t pay attention- But really, they are killing off all the wrong people, ne? It really makes me wonder what kind of direction we’re going in if all these people are dying. I hope it’ll make the second season great ^^
And yes, I am still watching PERSONA. I’ll never drop PERSONA xD I’ve been busy trying to complie a 2008 Spring Season Preview post, but I’m planning on posting for PERSONA today, if I’m lucky.

I did, a lot. Honestly I’ve only watched a few episodes of 00 but most of them had Patrick and I grew fond of him. He’s such an idiot. Poor Kathy.
I don’t know if I’m going to watch the second season. Eh, I’ll see how the 25th ep goes and then decide whether I want to pick up or not.
