Dragonaut -The Resonance- - Episode 24

So the one-sided Kazuki x Jin lovefest continues in this second-to-last episode of DTR. Even as a yaoi fangirl I find this relationship ridiculous. It’s made even more ridiculous by the fact that I think Kazuki is supposed to be the man but is really a groupie. He’s obsessed with Jin, and I can’t believe everyone can think of him as the good guy now. I mean, honestly, it’s great and all that he volunteered to protect the Avenir, and I’m sure it’s only the thought that counts, for without a dragon I can’t see how Kazuki can protect it from anything bigger than a fly. I won’t be surprised if Kazuki is alive after the upcoming final episode, for really, that’s all you need to top this train wreck of Kazuki’s story.
The way I see it, no matter who dies, Gio will definitely be with them. It’s been hinted that Gio has sacrificed a lot in order to make Toa live by becoming Thanatos’ successor, something that can’t be reversed. Knowing this, now that he’s ditched that and failed to drag down Jin with him, I have a strong hunch that all three of them will die together in order to be together in the end, saving the world in the process. It was cool to see Thanatos change into a massive dragon, though. I might be hoping for too much but maybe the trio of them will actually manage to get through to the giant creature and they will all live happily ever after (even Kazuki, if he must). We’ll see.
